Featuring Use of Force Training

     The ACOIN Use of Force Training is to provide guidance and direction in the Use of Force and security equipment by Corrections Employees in the lawful performance of their duties. The training will help to minimize risk to the general public associated with the escape of an inmate; minimize the likelihood of injury to employees, members of the general public, and inmates; prevent serious destruction of property, and meet the mission of individual state, county, and local          Department's and Agency's.

     Department's and Agency's authorize the Use of Force in circumstances   specified within their individual state, county, or local laws, rules, policies, or procedures.  In such circumstances where force is authorized, the type, amount and manner of the Use of Force authorized will be further specified within their individual state, county, or local laws, rules, policies, or procedures.  Correctional Employees are authorized to apply Physical Force when and to the degree that it reasonably appears necessary to maintain Legitimate   Correctional Objectives.
