HR 1889 the Private Prison Act of 2007

This legislation was original drafted by Brian Dawe, ACO/ACOIN Executive Director and Richard Loud former ACO President and was introduced in Congress as HR 1806 "The Private Prison Act of 2005" by Rep Peter King (R-NY), Rep. Ted Strictland (D-OH) & Rep Tim Holden (D-PA). Richard Loud, Richard Ferruccio President Rhode Island Brotherhood of Correction Officers and Vito Dagnello President of the Suffolk County Correctional Officers Association and current ACO President went to Washington DC and successfully lobbied for its introduction.

American Correctional Officer strongly supports this legislation. We ask that all ACO/ACOIN members contact their Representatives and ask that they support HR 1889 the Private Prison Act of 2007

HR 1889 requires prisons and other correctional facilities holding Federal prisoners under a contract with the Federal Government to make the same information available to the public that Federal prisons and correctional facilities are required to do by law.
